Everything is ready for the 45th Clásica San Sebastián

  • The 45th edition will cover 221.1 kilometres, featuring seven classified climbs.

The 45th Clásica San Sebastián is all set for this year’s race, which will bring together the world’s cycling elite on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The big event on the international cycling calendar in the Basque Country will once again feature a spectacular, demanding course designed to ensure that victory goes to one of the best riders in the WorldTour peloton. 

As in previous years, the race will start and finish on Boulevard de Donostia, one of the city’s most iconic locations, which will act as a meeting point for thousands of fans on race day. 

A course for the best climbers 

The course for this year’s race is 221.1 kilometres long and has retained the essence that has made the Clásica San Sebastián one of the most prestigious one-day races on the international calendar. Difficulty, beautiful scenery and a carefully chosen course continue to be the hallmarks of an event that delivers spectacular racing year after year. 

The peloton will tackle seven classified climbs during the race, with a cumulative elevation gain of more than 4,150 metres, which will once again test the best climbers and the strongest all-round riders.

The 2026 Clásica San Sebastián will once again be one of the most challenging tests on the UCI WorldTour calendar. It is characterised by the constant climbs and descents and the gruelling nature of its uphill sections, which favour riders who are able to perform at their best on explosive routes, making the race a thrilling spectacle right up until the final kilometres. 

On August 1, San Sebastian will once more become the epicentre of the international cycling world, while it plays host to the leading stars of world cycling and thousands of fans, who will fill the city’s streets to enjoy one of the great classics on the cycling calendar.
