The dates for the best cycling in the Basque Country have now been finalised for the 2027 season. OCETA has confirmed the official dates for its three major international events, which will once again see some of the world’s best teams and riders racing on Basque roads.
The Itzulia Basque Country (Tour of the Basque Country) will kick off the Basque cycling calendar between April 5 and 10, 2027, with six days of racing that will once again put the Basque Country at the heart of the cycling world. The race is part of the UCI WorldTour series and will pass through various parts of the Basque Country, along a challenging, spectacular route that truly reflects the identity of a race that delivers excitement, year after year, right up to the very end.
The following month will see the Itzulia Women take centre stage, between May 14 and 16, 2027. The women’s race has become one of the key events on the international calendar, featuring some of the world’s best female cyclists, thereby reaffirming the Basque Country’s commitment to the growth of women’s cycling.
The icing on the cake will be the Clásica San Sebastián, which will bring the season to a close on July 31, 2027. The only UCI WorldTour classic held in Spain will see Gipuzkoa once again play host to one of the most prestigious one-day races on the international calendar, with a route designed to deliver spectacular racing involving some of the world’s leading one-day race specialists
With these dates now confirmed, organisers, institutions, teams, fans and volunteers can start to get ready for a season that will, as ever, show off the Basque Country to millions of spectators around the world, firmly establishing the Itzulia, Itzulia Women and Clásica San Sebastián as three of the major highlights of international cycling.
