Correos Express becomes the logistics partner and main sponsor of the Clásica San Sebastián 2021

  • The subsidiary of the Correos Group will also sponsor the prize for the best team
  • It will provide two rigid trucks, three tractor units and four trailers to transport all the equipment required for the competition

Correos Express – the express parcels subsidiary of the Correos Group – will put its goods transport experience at the service of the Clásica San Sebastián 2021 as logistics partner and main sponsor of the competition, which will be held on 31 July.

The express delivery company will thereby accompany the cyclists throughout the race with two rigid trucks, three tractor units and four trailers, to transport all the equipment necessary for the event. It will also sponsor the best team of the day, by presenting a Correos Express trophy.

“It was a pleasure to work with Correos Express at the Itzulia and it’s great to work with them again at the Clásica San Sebastián. Moving an entire race, even a one-day race, is a logistics odyssey, but with professionals like this everything is easier,” stated Julian Eraso, president of OCETA.

The 2021 edition of the Clásica San Sebastián will cover 224 kilometers involving a first section along the entire Gipuzkoa coast and a second mountainous section, with climbs up the Jaizkbel, Erlaitz and Murgil mountains. 25 teams will be competing, including, in addition to the 19 UCI World Tour teams, six UCI ProTeams: Team Arkéa-Samsic, Team TotalEnergies, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Burgos-BH, Euskaltel-Euskadi and Equipo Kern Pharma.

This will be Correos Express’ fifth cycling race in 2021, following its logistics partnership and main sponsorship of the 100th edition of the Volta a Catalunya, the Itzulia Basque Country, the Vuelta Asturias, and role as official logistics operator of the Spanish Road Championship, held in Alicante last June.
